I have installed Mach2 at least five times over the past week and have never got it to run. Every time the OCXTEST completes succesfully. But the control software either does'nt even start or crashes within a minute of starting. The first computer I installed to was an old E-machine Pentium @500Mhrtz - When it didn't work I contacted Art and he said it was a slow machine(maybe to slow) but that it might work if I did a clean XP install and then followed the optimization procedure's he sent. I did that and it still did'nt work. So I looked around for a faster PC and found a PIII @850Mhrtz with 512 RAM in it. I went thru the same Standard PC install of XP, and then the optimization procedure(im getting good at it), and got the exact same results as my slower computer. The following screen shots are kinda cumbersome - If they annoy any one, I can just use links instead. Is there a way to format for image size in these posts? Notice on the 2 ocxtest screen shots that it says in the program window that it is MACH1 - I thought I had installed MACH2. Im sure this was just an oversight. Im becomeing frustrated, I hope someone will know what to do. Perhaps the info in the crash screen shot will be informative to someone. Here's a screen shot of the crash on the P500: Here's a screen shot of the OCXTEST for Mach2R6.11P: Here's a screen shot of the OCXTEST for Mach2Release4.0b: |

| Did you reboot when prompted during the install? If not, it won't work right. Also, have you tried Mach3?

I did the vital reboot described in the manual. Im pretty good with following directions. Mach3 might be the solution. Art contacted me with another procedure, that might fix me up, so I will try that when I get home, but I will check this thread for any other possible solutions before taking another whack at it. |
