| I am new at CNC, and just converted my Smithy 1200 LTD to Mach3. I use MasterCam 9.1 to generate my G-code. Learning it was painful, so to help others I put together an article describing the process. I tried to be as brief as possible (challenge for MC9), and added as many screen shots as reasonable. I compiled it with emphasis on smaller machines running Mach3 and similar controllers. Find it on my server at: http://www.novalab.org/mc/mastercam_tutorial.pdf Before you criticize me too much, remember I am an electrical engineer and not a machinist . I hope you find it useful, and am looking forward to any feedback.Regards, Chris |

| Hi Chris...the link aint going nowhere please fix it... As for me ,am a licensed MC user ( Lathe only) seriously....Mill just playing with it. I can see a good reason to make a good post for the Mach3 controller. I dont have any Hobby Cnc here at home ( not enough time) but am curious about them. |

| Save as works, but it won't let you open it in IE?

| I just looked why you can't open the link in IE. Here is an excerpt from the server error log: [Tue Nov 22 21:35:49 2005] shpd: access to .../novalab.org/.../mc/mastercam_tutorial.pdf failed for 71.131.45.29, reason: external link to non-page refused from MASTERCAM 9.1 TOOLPATH GENERATION for Mach3 So, you will have to "Save As", as the forum will nit let you link to PDF file directly. Has anyone been able to get this file? Chris |
