    Softlimits problem

    Hi guys,

I have finally gotten so far on my build that I need some help with Mach3

I run a Gecko 540 with only home switches. I'm trying to set up soft limits but can't quite figure it out.

Mach homes the machine correctly and the soft limit _min_ works perfectly, slows down and stops at the home switch. The problem is softmax where I can't get Mach to stop at all. I work in mm and have a envelope of 900mm on the X axis, 800mm on the Y and 160mm on the Z axis. I've tried allot of different settings, but this is the closest I have been so far.

    Se attached pic of settings.

    Any pointers?

Is 900 the maximum machine travel? If, so, then reduce the softlimit max, or at least increase the slow zone to 15-25mm.

If the travel is 900 and the soft max is 900, Mach3 won't slow down until it's within 1mm of the maximum travel, which isn't enough time to stop.

Hey ger, exactly that got me thinking while trying to sleep last night.

The slow zone is working properly so I figured the slow zone setting is a active/not active (1/0), but then when the rest of the settings is given in mm I was pretty sure I had a inches/mm problem. And you pretty much confirmed it.

I have set the units to mm, but the DROs and settings show inches.

It's 7am here in Norway atm, so about time to get some work done

    Thanks.
