G-rex with mach 4, Computer requirements?

If i was to get the new G-Rex controller, using mach4 would i be able to get away with using a much slowerPC than usual?
    I have a 200MMX with 32meg ram running Windows 98.
I know this PC will not work when trying to get the max speed(feed rate) with Mach3.
I was hoping the new Grex could act as a buffer to allow use of a cheap PC instead of the need for a new 2Ghz p4.
Can anyone confirm it does indeed do this?

Mach 3/4 will only work with Windows XP for starters.
Art has said that mach4 requires less performance out of the computer. Therefore you should be able to use it on a computer with less than the current minimum requirement of a 1 Gig processor fro mach 3.

Note: Mach 4 has not yet been released, and there is only a alpha version currently availiable. Alpha, not even Beta. So beware.

Mach3 can work with as little as a 500Mhz PC. Mach4 should be similar, but it needs XP or Win2K. More is recommended, though.

Realistically, with drives and motors, a Mach4 / Grex system is going to cost close to $1000. Spend $300 more and get a new PC to run it.

That extra $300 is not always available when on a budget.

What I meant to say was, no, the 200MMX won't work. You can pick up a 1Ghz PC on Ebay for ~$100, if you're lucky.
