    Master 5 feed rate question

I am having a feed rate problem with master5. When I change IPM feedrates (ether by g-code or by material) it only seems to affect arcs, not straight lines. However the jog will go as fast as I set it in the motor setup.

Do you have an example of your Gcode file we can see?

Have you made a simple test gcode file yet? Make a large rectangle in Gcode using 4 G01 commands with a feedrate command at the start.

Keep changing the F command and watch the machine each time.
    Thanks

I attached a sample g-file of a rectangle with an arc on top.
It was written using BobCAD. Same results if I adjust the feed in the file or in the materials window. Can adjust from 0.1 to 100 FPM and it only applys to the arc and the straight lines remain at what seems to be a fixed rate of about 10 FPM.

Anyone have any ideas? I have just started using my new Shoptask with master5 and an having the same problems. I can't seem to make any dent in the feed rate. I am used to running a MAXNC where there is a feed rate override .

    I don't use Master5. It's a good question to ask Art at www.artofcnc.ca

Could it be a decimal issue? Some controllers require a decimal in the feedrate command, some don't, etc.
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

Wow, after some searching, and some head scratching.......a great light dawned on me. I am almost ashamed to reveal my particular problem......

We had been using a MAXNC to do work, and apparently it doesn't care about feed rates in the code. At some point one of the guys programming started using G0 instead of G1. with the MAXNC we have this doesn't seem to make a difference, but it does in this program.

So I have appropriately slapped myself, and others.

    I can't believe I overlooked that.......dumb
