Sounds like your rapids are set too high for both to be going. Try this put in G01X10Y10F30 If it works keep increasing the F number until you stall the CNC and that will give you your max feed.

Feed is the speed that your CNC moves at. The code I listed above basically says go to x10y10 at a feed of 30.

Sorry, been quite busy here.

If you can run at 15 but not 30 it sounds like you have an issue somewhere. If you only go in one direction how fast can you go?

thank yoUUUUUUUUUU

one axis can move very fast but can't run two axis in same time fast

1- g0 x10 >>>>>>work
2-g0 x10 y10 >>>>>>> not wok
3- g01 x10 y10 f30 >>>>>> not work
4- g01 x10 y10 f15 >>>>>>>> work but very sloooooooow

the fast is about 5MM in second ( g0 x5)

"X" is not your feed it is the distance you travel in that direction.

Try using G01X10F30 and increasing the F number to find your max feed in one direction. It would also be good to know what your rapid feed is.

I'm by no means an expert in mach3. But I know that the following can be a problem with feed.

Kernel speed: This controls how fast mach can send commands. If it is set too low then mach can't keep up. You can change the kernel speed in the ports and pins menu in mach.

Parallel port: I have seen some people have issues with some parallel ports not being able to send commands fast enough for mach. I think they are usually ones that are installed as add in cards.

Control board: The board that controls your steppers/servo can hinder performance as well. I'm not sure of the function that limits you here but I would assume that it is a limit of the number of commands per second.

Power supply: Your power supply needs to source more and more power to each stepper/servo as you go faster. If it doesn't have the reserve it will limit your feeds.

You could also be at the limits of your build. I doubt it since you can more faster in one direction then when moving in two.

Not to sound like a real dweeb, but when you tell it to move 10, is that inches or MMs?

Depends on whether your in inch or mm mode. It could be either.

Like Gerry said it depends on what mode you are in. G20 for inch and G21 for mm. He had started his test by moving "10" so I knew that was in the machine's range.

Hi
1- I am new with Mach3. If I engrave with Mach3 CNC on metal and try to repeat it it goes more deep and if I repeat third time and goes more deep and so on. Where I have to change the values in Mach3 ? Any helpppp?

2- I also need good advise what CAD program I have to choose to create mostly engraving and cutting jobs. I like Corel Draw X5. How about ARTCAM PRO, VCARVE, ENROUTE, ENGRAVELAB ? Final job can I send direct to LPT1 port without mach3 and which is more compatible to Machine directly.
