    Start cutting near edge?

    Hi,

Is it possible to start the cut near the home position, I want to start about 5mm away from the start of the x & y axis to reduce material waste.

At the moment the image in the toolpath display appears to be a considerable distance away from the home position (pink lines)

I am pretty sure it would be, just not sure how I would go about it in mach 3.

Also could it be made a default setting for future cuts.

    Thanks

It doesn't look like you ever received an answer here but I believe the solution has more to do with where your origin is in your CAD/CAM program and where your origin is in Mach3 on your CNC. If you have your 0,0 point in the CAD file where you would like it to be on the CNC, then when you open the file in Mach3 it will use the coordinates.
