I have been told that stepper motors with encoders are better and more accurate than steppers alone. I have been searching with Google to learn more, and stumbled across this link: http://www.surplussales.com/Motors/Motors-encod.html My question now is how many pulses per revolution do I need, and does Mach2 software support the encoders in the link above? My stepper motors are 200/rev, 1.8 deg/step Eric |

| Mach2 won't support any encoders with steppers. There is an add-on encoder board for Mach3 that will be available soon, but it won't make them more accurate. It will just pause the machine if there is a position error.
