    G codes M codes Mach3

I finally have my FLA-100 CNC machine finished and purchased Mach3.
Everything on the machine works but now I need to think about Cam
software or something like Vcarve Pro. I need an experts knowledge before
I purchase one of these software packs.
My CNC router is in the basement and my work machine is upstairs.
Am I correct in assuming that I can install Cam or Vcarve on the upstairs machine, create my drawings and then output the drawing to a file which has the gcodes in it and then transfer the file via a usb thumb drive to the Mach3 machine in the basement? I'm sure that to most of you this is a basic question but I am confused and need to make sure that this will work before buying the software. Thanks!
    Regards, Carl

    Yes, that will work.

I have my machine on my home network, and just copy the files right to the machine from inside the house.
