Hello All,
I have a question I would like to throw out here.
As a newbie at this CNC hobby, I have purchased various bits to try out. All of these are of course 1/8 inch shank or less due to the size of the spindle chuck and most are Dremel brand bits. To keep myself from snapping bits off left and right I am running my feeds and depth of cuts way on the conservative side. It would be kinda cool to be able to speed things up safely to save time and bits too.
I have looked at various feed charts, but they all seem geared for much larger cutters, like ½ inch and up. I have also looked at several math formulas and basically am having trouble reconfiguring the formulas for what I need (I grew up in the 60s and should have gone to class instead of parting).
Does anyone out there already have a chart made up for these microscopic bits we have to use? Spindle speed versus bit size versus feed rate versus depth of cut in what material?
Any help here would sure be appreciated.
