Rods UP 9000 is on a distinguished road
motors will not move

I'm a computer dummy but good at mechanical stuff.
I started building this mini mill back in Dec 2006 and
just finished it up. I'm using Xylotex 3 axis board with
their 425 oz motors. When the power is on to the driver
the motor lock up lock like they are suppose to. When I hook
up the cable to computer and run Mach 3 I cannot get
the motors to move. I'm missing something but cannot
figure it out.
Thanks
Rodney

Buy me a Beer?

Sounds like you're machine is not running Mach3 properly. Go through this. http://www.machsupport.com/downloads...timization.txt

Having said that, do the DRO's change when you try to move? Triple check all the port and pin assignments, as well as the port address.

And did you set the VREF's on the Xylotex? probably if they are locking up.

No, you just have to have the correct address in Mach3. It's usually something like 0x378. Watch the installation videos at ArtSoft USA - Home of Mach3 and LazyCam, and they show you how to get the correct address.

Got the motors running thanks to the link to the videos that you pointed me to.
Now I'll start tuning the motors now.
