Noise in z home limit wiring

Whats the best way to combat noise in my z home limit switch wiring on Mach3. I am running a probotix breakout board and the wires are giving faults signals to my THC300. I tried bumping up the debounce already but it did not work. Will ferrite beads work?

Did you use shielded cable?
If so have you grounded the shielding?

Cable is not shielded. I shall try that. Thanks Gully

I had similar problems with noise on my limit switch wires, even when they were shielded. My solution was to put a .01 ceramic capacitor and a 1 mfd electrolytic capacitor in my controller, right at the point where the wires attached to the circuit board. The capacitors are between the wire connection block and ground on the circuit board.
You can get these very small parts at a Radio Shack store. I can now run a very low debounce value as well, no more false signals to the board.

Same Problem

Hi,

I am actually having exactly the same problem with the probotix breakboard, i will try to attach a low-pass pasive filter to each switch to see if this solves the problem.

Question ELECTRIC NOISE

[

Can you send me or explain which kind of filter do you plan to solve a problem ? Just a resistor 4,7 kohm + capacitor 100 nf in series connected parallel between the contact of limit switch or ?????

Software Fix

There is a kind of software fix, it worked for 2 of my axes but not for the third one, the one i think has most noise. If you are in Mach3 go to Config - General Config and find a textbox with the debouncing number, by default it's 0, try setting it a value between 500 and 10000 and tell me if that does it for you

Many times that is getting rid of the symptom, not curing the real problem.
