I'll start by saying, I have a new motherbord, processor, ram, etc... on the way for the desktop computer that will be running this router.

I'm wanting to hook it up to my laptop ang get it moving. My laptop has no serial port so I went out and bought a usb to serial connector. My problem is that I cannot find the address of the serial port. I'm running win XP.

Is this going to work or should I return the connector & chew nails for a few more day's.

Mach3 only runs thru an actual parallel port. A USB to parallel connector won't work. Unless you are using something like a smoothstepper you cannot operate from USB.

Return the connector and wait for the desktop with parallel port.
