I am just beginning retrofitting two Boss5 Bports. I am planning using the Mach 2 and now selecting drives. I am aware of a successful retrofit using Mach 2, 3 geckos, and a Bob Campbell breakout. Maybe its worth following his footsteps just since its known to work. I recently found a 4 axis 10A stepper driver from Delegrange Technology LLC. It is very attractive for cost at $150 to run 4 axes. Has anyone used this driver with Mach software? Is the Campbell breakout still required? Also - how has Mach performed for 3d work? Thanks in advance Scott |

| Scott, The first question I would ask is the 4 axis drive package microstep. Art from mach2 told me that for the program to work properly it really needs micro step drives. As to 3d work...attached is a sample of what I do and was all carved using mach2 v6.10. Mike

| i bought a 4 axis board off dtllc, i have no complaints. i had to buy resistors to suit the motors which were fairly expensive. you only have the option of full step and half step. im yet to enquire about going to smaller steps. im not up to that stage yet. it was very easy to hook up and also has 4 onboard relays for spindle and coolant ect.. the guy i communicated with was more than helpful, always responded quick and in good detail. im happy with my purchase but must admit i have no experience with any other board. |

![]() I hope you are having fun with the machine. Mach 2 and Mach 3 will run DTLLC.COM boards without a hitch you do not have to get a microstepping drive. You need to set the pulse width and direction prechange to 5uS and you will be good to go. Dave |
