    PMW spindle control

    Hi all,

I am hoping someone can help!! I have a Sherline mill with an easy cnc 3 axis control board. I purchased a cnc4pc c6 board to control the spindle. I have hooked up every thing in accordance with the instructions provided and am having difficulty getting a 0-5vdc signal from Mach3. I am currently running the latest version. I have tried both the step and dir route and the PWM route to no avail. I checked the enable step and dir box and assigned pin #16 to the spindle on port 1. I set the feq to 10 and 0%. I set the pully to 10,000 rpm and ratio 1. I have tried with and without low active checked. with it checked I get a steady 1.5vdc when I type m3 s10000 in MDI screen. When I vary the speed the voltage stays the same. When I atempt with low active I get a mv reading that varies with speed but the voltage is to low to get any thing from the 0-10vdc out put on the c6 board. I can not seem to get Arturo to answer my email and frankly I can't say it is his problem untill I can figure out why Mach will not provide a 0-5vdc signal? I have searched for several days on this form and Mach's forum and have found people with simmalar problems but no solutions given? I tried Hoss's settings but they didn't work for me. Can someone please help?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Gerry,

Thankyou for the reply. I found the link you provided both interesting and informative. Though it is kind of oppisite of my aplication it had a few tid bits that might apply. I am headded to Washington DC on Monday with the family for vacation so I will be unable to test. I am taking the laptop to stay tuned and will atemp the new setup when we return. I will post the results when I return. I did not use the dir pin setting in the spindle setup tab because it is not used. In the write up you sent they found for some unexplained reason they had to set it up even though they were not using the output signal either.
    thanks again,
    Jeff

    still no luck

I tried adding the direction signal per the tutorial Gerry sent but no change. I am becoming very frustrated with Arturo from cnc4pc. I have had an open tickit on his support sight for some time and it takes days for every reply! He says he is on the road! This seems like it should be a simple set up and I am sure there are plenty of people who are using the c6 board with Mach3 but I can't seem to find one willing to help? My father always taught me that the key to any problem solving is knowing were to find the needed information. Can someone out there point me in the right direction....PLEASE?
    Jeff
