A Axis not "Homing"

Hello Folks
I have a small problem, when I have Mach 3 "Reference all home" the X Y Z axis are good, BUT the "A" axis just keeps spinning, I have let it go 720 degrees. any suggestions?

Don't know what type of machine, but there is usually a homing sensor, either mechanical/roller or proximity. The sensor must find a cam, piece of metal or other element designed to trigger the sensor during the homing cycle.
Your problem could be a bad sensor, a trigger that is bent, loose or missing or a loose or broken wire between the sensor & input module.
There may be over stroke cam(s) for the axis too, so make sure you're checking the correct system.

If you can get access the the sensor, try starting the homing process and then trigger the switch or sensor to see if the sensor/switch and everything after it is OK. Proximity sensors should typically be adjusted within 1/16".

If the homing cam or switch are moved during the repair, be aware that your axis home position (Zero Null Offset or modified home position) will probably have changed and that you'll need to check the alignment.
Part programming origins and tool positions may also be effected.

It is usually wise to park a rotary axis at the zero position and to pay attention as it homes out if there are any wire/hoses that might be damaged if it goes too far.

CMSGlassguy Thanks for the info, but my rotory table has NO feedback to Mach 3, along with all of my other axis. I'm wondering if I missed a setting in the program when I set it up?

Make it autozero.

Somewhere in homing /limits untick enable the A axis homing.
I used the A limit port bit for an external cycle start switch.

I just rotate the 4th axis manually to zero, and hit the screen zero.
You put something in the chuck and it is never near zero anyway.

Bell,
Try looking under :
Ports and Pins -- Input Signals

And make sure the A axis Homing is NOT enabled.
Hopefully the screen shot will come through.

Nice to have a happy ending.

That's the good thing about Mach there are lots of configurable settings.

The bad thing is there are lots of configurable settings.
