mach2 doesnt like my fixture changes?

It hasnt always done this, only from time to time, and when it does do it, it wont not do it it seems. It is like it gets right up to zero and crapps out, acts like its missing steps. It is doing this during a drill cycle

The line it does it at is the bolded line, it does almost exactly when it hits X0 G55.

Am I programming this wrong or is there something strange going on in mach2?
Just for the record, it has to be software, my axis is extremely smooth, I could almost push it across the point without power to the motors, I also changed my rapid speed from 150ipm to 60ipm and it still did it, it was just a little more violent at 60ipm.

Mark, I gave that a shot, although it didnt change anything. It appears to have stopped before it hit the zero

It just doesnt make any sence to me why it would do that. I can jog back and forth, have it rapid back and forth.
Does the G55 have to go anywhere? I have been putting it in its own line.

try a feed and see if it does it... maybe a realy fast one.

I thought your using mach3 not mach2...in which case probably a pragram glitch thats why its beta.

whenever Ive had silly little things happen like that a memory stick ended up going bad realy soon.... and thats the issue.

without deleting the file. copy it and reload the copy and see if it still does it.

Jon,

I think Mark's suggestions are good ones, especially the G80 to cancel the cycle.

Are you running in G90 mode or G91? I don't see this in your program.

If Mach has some kind of bug, you might try inserting a G53 (to cancel the work offsets), before calling the next work offset. If that doesn't help, try a return to the home position before calling the next work offset.

What kind of values are you using in your G54 and G55 tables?

Buy me a Beer?

Jon, send this to Art. If there's a bug, he'll probably have it fixed in a day or too.

It is mach2, mach3 wouldnt run, but I think I know why it didnt and will try it again soon enough.
It is G90, this is what I have at the top of my prog:
G17 G20 G40 G49 G61 G90 G94

I will try running a feed across it tomorow and do some more looking, then I will e-mail Art. I stopped e-mailing tech support right away when I usually figure out the problem right after. I will try those last things then send one arts way.

For my G54 and G55, It is off of my vice and off of my home switches. they are negetive values if it make any difference.

Thanks,
Jon

Ok, a few things I tried,
I tried in MDI to run a few G0s across it,
G0 G55 X.5625
G0 G54 X-.5625 and back
then I took a peice of metal and stuck it between the home switch and where it homes out and homed it out 1/2" off and ran the program, and it stalled at the 1/2" offset, not physically in the same spot.

I tried copying the drill pattern to a new file, and running it again, still had the same problem. Now I will send Art an e-mail.

Thanks,
Jon
