Hi forum I would like to upgrade my Heidenhain Interact 145 C controller to a PC running Mach3 - I have already downloaded and installed Mach3 I would ,if possible, still like to retain the exsiting SEM PM motors and analog Bosch drives as I hear they are bullet proof also the availability of "high voltage" servo drive on a budget are few and far between. The motors have both tacho's on (feed back to the drive?) and some sort of Heidenhain encoder on them (feed back to interact?). I have done a bit of research and believe something like KFlop is the way to go. I can't find the Rutex product mentioned in a previous thread and believe Skyko product is obsolete! Now my questions

1. DSPMC/ip. I use it and love it although it is a bit pricey it does handle the analog drives nicely and reads the encoders back into Mach3. It also uses 24v I/O. 2. I Don't know. 3. I am using the DSPMC and Mach3 on my BTC-1 with amt-102 encoders. 4. As long as your encoders are 5 volt I don't see why not. The DSPMC will handle very high encoder counts and fast speeds so no may be the time to upgrade the encoders. Of course if your encoders are 1000 count or better they should be just fine. | Hi Mike Thanks for the feedback dspmc/ip At $995.00 for P/N 7762S it is a bit pricey for me although it looks like a very professional with lots of features. Kflop costs only $249 yes I am sure I am not comparing apples for apples but kflop is more within my price range if I keep the Bosch servo drives So does anyone have any experience with Kflop ? Craig |

Remember if your drives are analog +-10v you will need the Kanalog option. Mike

| Heidenhain, as well as the 5v TTL type, use a large variety of encoders that are either 11µa or 2v P/P sine wave, these are largely incompatible with the 5v TTL systems. Al.

| So, in need to do my cost comparison again! I will now look at changing the encoders as well. Incidentally is +- 10v a "standard" for analog drives. Thanks Al and Mike |
