Hi all,
I have a plasma table running mach3 and the thc300 plugin.
Where is the proper location to set the arc voltage setpoint?? I have tried the
"tip volts" point under the settings page with no success. Does anyone know if this is the correct location to set your tip voltage ??
I am tried to trouble shoot if this is a THC issue or a Mach issue

I'm not sure what you are talking about. So you have the THC300 unit? What "plug-in" are you talking about? That unit does not have a plug-in that I am aware of. There is a MACH THC plug-in (unsupported) but it's up to you to get the proper scaled and filtered DC volts from the Torch to some form of analog input.
We have on-screen presets for Arc Volts (tip volts) and other parameters but the values are transmitted to an embedded processor in our DTHC module. Actual arc volts is shown in another DRO as you cut but it's feedback data from the same DTHC module.

sorry about the confusion. I am using mach3 with a cambell designs thc300 as the arc voltage controller.
Under mach3 I am using the screen set that was provided by cambell designs.
My issue is that when I input the arc voltage setpoint (though the settings page in mach). THe z axis will not modulate fast enough to maintain the setpoint. my z axis is set to 200ipm with a 150 ipm x and y.
For people using the thc300 where do they set there arc voltage setpoints???
The "set point" is the knobs on the front. There is no readout in MACH or on the front of a set point, just the actual arc volts while cutting. Adjusting the knobs changes the set point and the cut gap on the fly. Once you have the right setting, gap volts will hover around the proper value as recommended by the plasma mfg. Each tip size and current setting change will mean a different knob setting.
Since the THC300 has no communication to MACH other than the UP and DOWN digital inputs.
200 IPM running with the THC Rate (setting in MACH) at the default 30% will give you 60 IPM in THC mode and is plenty fast unless you are trying to cut a 60 deg slope with X & Y moving at > 50 IPM (thats not what plasma is designed to do anyway).
