    lagging when I change Direction.

I have a problem with mach 3 when i change direction the motore seen to slow way down then come back up to speed. I have been running emc2 in linix to try and get away from all the window stuff because I was losing step really freqently on my tag mill with xylotec driver using mach 3 it was better in emc2 but downloaded the latest mach 3 to try because i really like the enterface. so anysuggestions of how to solve? it runs fin on emc 2 so it is not the drivers or the motors.

    Thanks bigguy

Sounds like the Acceleration values in the motor tuning section....

Click an axis button, press the up and down arrow keys. if it accelerates to slow.. move the slider to the right a little and try moving again... don't forget to click save axis when you are happy(this includes before you click another axis to try it.

I tried that. I am just not sure what the problem is. the motors run fine and stop ok and start the other direction but then it slows way down and starts accelerating up to normal speed.
so I just keep running emc2. this computer is pretty much just for running the cnc.

Thanks anyway there is an answer some where!!! I hope or I will just try to find my older copy of Mach 3 and try it.worked befor with the same settings.

Do you have backlash enabled? If you do, try increasing the backlash speed setting in the backlash settings window.

I am not sure if I have that enabled. but I will check it out. it ran fine when I first set it up but I updated the mach3 with the latest version that is when i noticed the problem. so I may just have to resetup the setup file.

    Thanks Frank

try changing the delay in -- Config>general settings

By default this value is 1. Change it to .005. This will cause the motors to reverse quickly as expected.
