Hello. I just got my machine running and I'm trying to set it up but I'm an idiot. After going through the motor tuning stuff, I still dont understand why I can jog an axis 1 inch but mach3 says 4.243. I have 1/4 motor shaft and 1/2-10 lead screw. Can anyone help me please? |

The easiest way to do this is go to the settings page and at the lower left hand corner is a button that says set steps per unit. Make sure you are in either inches or mm before you set the axis. On the main page make sure your scaling is set to 1. this is to the right of the dro's. Mike

| Your steps per unit should be 2000 x microstepping amount. 8000 for 1/4 step, 16000 for 1/8 step, 20,000 for 1/10 step (gecko). I'm guessing it's set wrong.

| 4000. I thought I should have worded it differently. 1/2 steps doubles your steps, so multiply by 2.Yes, you need to put that in the motor tuning for each axis.
