I'm designing a new BOB that has dedicated outputs and inputs layed out for the functions (4)step/directions, charge-pump, 2 aux outputs for Mcodes, spindle speed 0-10v and spindle-on. But i would have to sacrifice 1 aux out to use as a spindle-on line(not enough outputs), so i made it that if there is a pwm output signal >1% on the 0-10V (and charge-pump ready) then it signals spindle-on relay. Does anyone else do it this way or do all use a port output line to turn on the spindle ? Larry K

Doing it you way how would an M05 (spindle stop) in the gcode stop the spindle. I guess you could just program S0 but then how would you get spindle reverse. Not everybody uses reverse but I am not sure if you want to make a product that doesn't allow "standard" G-code control Since you have 0-10v analog output I can assume we are talking about VFD or dc motor control. The way that I am familair is to have 1 pin for forward, 1 for rev and neither on for stop. YMMV. Mike

It will have 2 other outputs that can be used for spindle reverse, coolant, mist etc. I wonder how many people actually use a charge pump signal ?
