Boy how stupid I am.Anyway, I removed the wires and messed with pin settings before I figured out what was wrong..Dang dang dang....
Well back to my question. Is there a way to start the spindle without g code?? I dont see any switch on the Mach control screen.I just want to see if I have the ac drive wired correct this time. Excuse me if this is elementry but Im still in kindergarden! Lol...thank jim |
There are 2 ways. On the keyboard the F5 key will toggle the spindle on and off. If you have the spindle wired to accept S commands and the drive ahs a minimum speed of zero, all the F5 key will do is turn the internal realy to on but may result in no spindle movement.
The other and possible better way is to go to the MDI page ALT-2 is the keyboard short cut.
High light inside the MDI box. type M03 S1000 and the spindle should go in the clockwise direction at a speed of 1000 rpm if all is wired and you have it wired to accept S commands from the PC. M05 to stop. M04 to go in reverse.

P.S. Never let anyone borrow your CNC computer. I think that is the second deadly sin.
