Hi guys I'm wondering if someone could help me solve a problem I'm having. I hadn't been using my mill for almost 1 year as I was busy working on a big project I had all summer. In January I had my PC mother board die out on me. I tried to buy the same board to replace but I couldn't find one and opted for a newer version from the same brand and sent my dead motherboard in for warranty. I also bought a new hard drive at the same time. I just installed the latest lock down of Mach and put in my old XML file. A guy that helped me wire the machine told me that the C11 rev.3 (cnc4 pc) board I had in my machine was known to have an accuracy issue, and that I should change around 11 resistors or so on the board. I was needing another board for another project anyway so I ordered the newer board which at the time (earlier this year) was ver 5. I wired it in the machine and everything is working ok when I jog slow, but when I try to hold the shift key and arrow Direction key it rapids, but if I hold it for over 2 seconds the axis keeps going and takes off and I lose control of it. If I use the Mach MPG to jog the machine with the mouse I can as long as I don't choose 100% If I go 100% it will take off then too. I thought it might have been my keyboard at 1st but now I realize it has to be something else. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Dan |

| already set to low active... Some more "quirks" while it is a runaway No other arrow changes motion (all arrows show reaction to click of mouse, but no effect on runaway) If I disable continuous motion, axis will stop. If re-enabled, axis will continue runaway MDI will allow the typing of any letter EXCEPT Y,O,A,J,Z,C,V, space bar the letter N, will not appear when typed No conflicts or shared DMA or IRQ No non basic windows activity running (only MACH3) Restart MACH3 and everything works perfect... for awhile... day, week, minute... Never goes runaway in a program (yet). Only after initiating a jogging function with the mouse (never use keybaord shortcuts) |

| Are you using a wireless mouse and keyboard?

| That is what I thought as well, Ger. I have seen the odd jog behavior with a wireless keyboard and also with a cheap silicon sealed keyboard. It wasn't wireless, but was USB. I still use an identical keyboard on a vista machine running the router and it doesn't do it on that machine. It may be the way a particular computer control's that device.
