I have seen an older similar post to this, but it does not really reach a conclusion, so thought I would ask the question fresh.

I have a Heiz T-400 and would like to use it with Mach 3. The stepper controller has a parallel port, but this then connects to an optional real-time controller which I purchsed with WinPC-NC professional software. The second controller has a serial outport and I cannot get Mach 3 to "see" it. I am wondering whether I should by-pass the real-time controller and connect my PC straight to the stepper controller using the parallel port connection. It just seems a shame not to use the real-time controller?
I would appreciate any advice.
