Not real familiar with it, but most use one of the limits as a home switch. Home can be anywhere in the cutting area though. On a mill, home might be dead center and on a router, the home might be at one limit switch. It all depends on what you want to reference off of. Where you want to start cutting from.

I use limit switches as home also, but if your going to have separate ones, I would put it close to one of the limit switches. You have to tell your controller which direction home is located and if the switch is in the middle, the controller might not know which direction to travel! You can always set that location to any desired point. So lets say you have a total of 12" travel and you want the 0" location in the middle and the home switch is at the left hand extreme. You home in the negative direction. When it gets there, you tell it that is -6" and your done.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm just going to install the limit switches for each axis and use each one of them as home but don't know exactly how to configure that in mach3.
