| I'm new here, and hopefully this is the right place for my problem. I'm using Mach3 on a IBM Thinkpad 600e, running windows XP. I have the printer cable hooked up to the computer, coming from the box that has the X, Y, and Z cables that go to the mill. I am using an older Sherline mill. Now, the problem. I am using the SherlineMill.xml file as the profile. When I try to Jog, the motors make a whining noise, but they dont move. Occasionally the motor may turn 1 mill, but it's very infrequent. I have tried using the Motor Tuning menu in the config, but changing the Velocity, Accel, and Steps Per doesn't seem to have any effect. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I'm pretty new to using the Mill and CNC'ing in general. |

| Do you have it in "Sherline Mode"?

| Yes, it is in the Sherline 1/2 mode. I think it is most likely a problem with how much voltage is being sent to the motors, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Edit: Here's some pictures of the controller. Hopefully these will help. The bottom of the board says "Backtrack 3 axis controller revision D". ![]() ![]() Another problem I'm having is that the X and Y axis controls in Mach3 are both controlling the same motor.
