    Where is X Y Home at 0,0?

Where is the X and Y home?

I am using Taig Mill with Mach3 CNC software. X Y axis cross slid table.

Looking down with spindle as reference and standing at front of machine. The cross slides should be move in the X and Y direction. Where should the cross slides be at home executing g-code.

    Plan-A
Facing the front of the mill, when I reference machine home and set X,Y at 0,0 the X cross table should be at the far right and the Y table should slide forward to the front. With Plan-A the g-code image is kind of upside down in the Y direction. The material has to move in positive Y, Which make spindle seem to move in –Y direction. Material moves in –X direction which make spindle seem to move in Positive X. +X-Y

    or

    Plan-B
Facing the front of the mill, when I reference machine home and set X,Y at 0,0 the X cross table should be at the far right and the Y table should slide back or away to the back. With Plan-B the material has to move in negative Y direction, Which make spindle seem to move in positive Y direction. Material moves in –X direction which make spindle seem to move in Positive X. +X+Y

I guess it could use all 4 location( +X+Y, -X+Y, +X-Y, -X-Y) but what is typical.

I have included images of Plan-A and Plan-B. Not sure if I explained my question clearly.

Visualize the cutter moving over the piece.

That places your origin at the bottom left of the material. At that point the x table is to the right and the y is towards the column as in your second image.
