    newbie question xyz and tool movement direction

    what is common or is everyone diff as far as each axis and which way the tool moves for positive or negative


    example.. currently x-axis moves tool in the direction of arrows on keybord and y-axis is opposite and moves the table in direction of arrows.

    Picture the tool moving opposed to the table. The "Cartesian coordinate system" is used. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartesi...rdinate_system This is standard for most machines.
