Hello Everyone, i am in the process of building a cnc machien and have gotten my all my electronics stuff up and running. My problem is that i came across a problem when i was stepping the motors and am not sure if its my hardware(HOBBYCNC board) or the software. The problme is that One of my axis, my Y Axis, is only turning in one direction reguardless of whether i press the Y++ or Y-- hotkeys. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a setting i could change to fix this or at least point me in the right directon. Im am very doubtful the driver chip is blown as it is spinning at the request of the buttons for both directions and the fact everything was done on antistatic mats and extreme care and all warnings were put in action like no removal of steppers till i could see 0v across the terminals. But it could have happend before i got it im not sure. ANyway any help would be greatfully appreciated. Daniel |

Hey everyone, good news is that i finally fixed it. Somehow before i used the board it has either slipped into the protection mode or when i first switched it on it did it. It was as simple as switching the power ON-OFF-ON-OFF the letting it settle for a minute or two. Then its as good as new. If anyone has any weird errors with a drive of theirs on a Hobby CNC board i suggest that you might try it(ALthough most of you are probably quicker than me and tried it first). Its aways right there in front of you tesing you, and the last thing you try before losing your mind. :-) Daniel (Not so frustraited now) |
