Mach3 Mill.... Motors not turning.

Hi,

I have built a 3 axis routing system and trying to get Mach3 to run the steppers.

Well the electronics part is also custom made. I am using a controller AT89S52
(8051 architecture) with 11.0592 Mhz crystal giving the ref frequency. The microcontroller is linke to a driver circuit built around a Sanyo chip (STK6713BMK4). The ckt is in good shape and the code for the Controller very simply done in Assembly.

The problem is I configured Mach3 once .( Ports n Pins, Motor Tuning, Active Highs n Lows) once and tried it out . The system worked fine. I left in running condition overnight and the next day when i tried running it again.... the motors wont move at alll. There locked into position as soon as I power up and hit reset, but wont rotate.

An electronics guy said that the Kernel frequency (25KHz) is a bit too high for the controller i am using.....

Anybody with ideas or suggestions..
pls Help

I don't think that's your problem. 25Khz is the maximum Mach3 is capable of. It only sends steps as fast as you tell it to.

Red face Something to try, may help, may not....

just a shot in the dark but you could try adjusting the step pulse under motor tuning and setup, if it is set to 0 change it to 5 or something, I had the same problem when I built my CNC and that fixed it. Also look at the settings of the ESTOP override under ports and pins setup, I had a problem with that too. Also had to put in a PCI adapter because the standard motherboard ports would not output enough power to the controller. Hope this helps and good luck.
