Once again I come to the CNC community for help. I am a weekend warrior when it comes to CNC. But it sure has been fun. I have seen many examples of photo carving out there and just as many software packages. (still evaluating those) I came across a statement in one of the Forums that said you could download a .bmp file into mach 3 and get a somewhat decent result. Thought I would give it a try today. PROBLEM
1) When I loaded the .bmp into mach it did create the G code software. However, it seems to have set the Feed Rate at 6.0. At that rate I will be here all day. I typically import G code in from BobCad and run with a feed rate of around 120. I am guessing since this will not cut very deep .03" I can run much faster. How do I get from a feed rate of 6 to 120?
2) Second question. Has anyone had good success cutting a .jpg or .bmp straight into mach. I've looked for some pictures on the site but have not found any. Can anyone direct me to some examples.
Thanks for the help
Gerry
