From Mach2 to Mach 3

I've been using Mach2 for a few months (my only cnc experience) I want to go to Mach 3, but wander if I need hi tect help or is this a simple task. I like the ability to view the toolpath in Mach 3 and the Wizards.

Copy all your port and pin info, and enter it into Mach3. You'll need to retune the motors. You can keep Mach2 installed and install Mach3, just don't try to run them at the same time. That way you can keep using Mach2 until you get Mach3 setup properly.

I was under the understanding the pin config was different, I'm I wrong?

Do I only change the software settings or do I change the hardware pin locations?

Make all your pin settings the same as they are in mach2, mach3 uses ipm so that will be a little different.

In mach2 I could just tick off which axes I wanted (to reverse the direction on) in a dialogue box. How do I do it in Mach3? The dialogue box for this function seems to have been moved or removed...

The new version should see the Mach2 XML and ask you if you would like to have your XML converted I would double check all the settings but it should have very close!
