i just connected my gecko drivers to a couple of motors and what a difference to the fet3, but my x axis motor has been tuned to the max setting in machs motor tuning , it ran smooth each adjustment up until max where the software would lockup the motor then e stop itself, at full steps on my other driver i used 1200steps/ unit now the gecko s ive got are ten micro steps so i am right in setting the step at 12000 right? the tpi is 6 for x and y ,have i came to the max pulses per minute ? also my z which has a tpi of 13 is also to the max setting and can still go more its only at 60ipm , is there some sort of setting for microstepping in mach? |

| If you've registered it, and have a fast enough PC, increase the kernel speed to 35Khz.

| im using the mach demo , i have been using kcam but it seems it is getting confused by the number of steps or something because when i try to set the system timing the software locks up , i dont know how good kcam is with microstepping but it worked well for me in the past , on the other hand after farting around with the mach , i m leaning more toward the mach software , it has a nice face , more professional setup,i may try the linux emc to see how well that works , there aren t a lot of other good options out there |
