Hi, I have just purchased a Golmatic MD24 mill running with Mach 3 on a MachMotion touchscreen controller and I am using it with Inventor and InventorCAM. I want to do some Metric tapping and currently I use Coventry Toolholders EasyChange collets and they do a range of quickchange 'slipping clutch' tap holders as here: http://www.coventrytoolholders.co.uk...age127-128.pdf My question is if I use these with Spiral taps then how can I program for them easily in both the CAM system and/or as a 'conversational wizard' in MACH 3? Is there something someone has already done? I assume I just need to program the approach, feed speed, spindle speed and depth, etc correctly for each tap size and the the slipping clutch in the collect will handle any bottoming? Many thanks Kevin |
