Never play with the toolpath or change screens while the machine is running, or you can get similar results.
Hey All,
I have a problem with our router that, at first I thought it was jamming on the rails...
I today finally realised that it happens (not everytime) when I touch the screen on mach3...
I first noticed it today when I rotated the toolpath preview it jumped... then later later when I started VNC (remote desktop software) to keep an eye on the cut...
So it appears to be something like the parallel port cant keep up driving the pulses or something...
Any ideas?
TIA!
Bill

i'm having the same problem and the router goes completely off course ruining the workpiece, i've been going through it in my head all day and i'm thinking it may be my screen saver. would that make sense?
My machine used to do that when I had “noise” coming through, maybe you should check that?
I've had best results removing any software that isn't cnc related on my machines. This definitely includes screen savers, wall papers, anything that uses unnecessary cpu or video usage. Hibernation and power saving features should also be disabled.
As Ger mentioned, never try to do anything with the computer while the machine is running other than Stop, Estop, Feed Hold or Pause etc.
The more dedicated a computer is to machine control, the better your results will be.
