Smile How to swich X and Y axis in Mach3

Hello, i would like to swich X to Y axis and Y to X. Currently my 4th axis is aligned with Y axis what makes me problems to find postprocesor and make g-code, so i thought to swich axes. i dont want to move 4th axis to put my current moving X axis cos my 4th axis rotary table is very heavy so i put it fixed "outside" the machine aligned with Y axis, rather than fix it on moving x axis. So i thought to swich in Mach3 X and Y axis to get rotary toolpath X->A cos i dont know how to get Y->A toolpath in ArtCAM. thank you

It sounds like you can just switch the cables

Plug the X cable into the Y socket, and the Y cable into the X socket. Any moves down what used to be the X direction will now go down the Y direction and the old Y direction will become the new X direction. You'll have to remember that when laying out a new flat part, but the 4th-axis code should work okay with it.

You can do the same thing by going into Config/ports and pins in Mach, and switching the values, but that's more difficult to explain...

Keep everything the same

if it was working correctly before. The advice you got was correct; switch the step and direction pin numbers from the X axis to the Y axis, and from the Y axis to the X axis. I believe the "low active" pin 2 should remain low active in the new Y axis, but check to make sure that everything works correctly, and the motors go in the right directions - if not, these are the things you'll have to change.
