Z axis keeps losing caliberation Y

when i'm running a gcode my z axis seem to losing is calibration. it stepper don't change (in motor tuning) but when i tell it to move 3" to well move something like .40" and the z axis is moving alot fast to. now when it was cutting i did play with the feed rate. it has happen like three time now and everytime i have recalibrated the axis. i would like to trust it to put a good piece of wood in there but not there yet but getting closer.

thank you

I am having a similar problem, I calibrate the Z axis over and over but it remains just off (by about .0625 [1/16"]).

Electric2u, what part of Michigan? I am just north of G.R.

Buy me a Beer?

Try cutting the velocity and acceleration in half, and see if it's better. Most likely , you're losing steps.

I wouldn't mind being in Boyne City. Nice up there.

A bit far, I had hoped to find someone in this area to compare notes with.

Did it work?

Propnut,
I'm experiencing a similar problem and would love to know if slowing down the axis helped.

Thanks!

Jeffrey
