Thanks Art,

Cheers,
To all those who have used, or still use Mach3, you might be interested to know that Art Fenerty, the programmer of Mach3, has now retired.
He has played a major part in turning the CNC world upside down and making CNC affordable to the masses.
He has handed over the reigns to Brian Barker, who is continuing to build on top of Arts code.
If you wanted to wish him well, you could post in this thread, and I will get him to check here from time to time.

Yep, Thanks a whole bunch for developing such a fantastic package as Mach3 and it's predecessors, Art. I love the programs and the speed of your updates were truly amazing. I hope you won't be missed (so you can do what you want without interruption) but I think you will by the many folk you have touched.
I wish you well in any of your endeavors.
Rich.
I am not completely useless.......I can always serve as a BAD example.
10 salutes to u Art Fenerty Mach3 is the software of the century
Thank You Art. When I retire I plan on putting my Mach to work(Play)..!

Thanks a million, Art.
Dos and I do not get along very well, so I was glad to see Mach 3 for the first time and every time I fire up Windows. Three or four years ago, I had no clue what cnc was. Now I am working on my fourth machine. Mach 3 has been a blessing and i certainly am thankful for all your hard work and dedication to us hobbyist.
Now relax and have some fun. You certainly have earned that right.

Art,
Thanks a million for making this hobby what it is.
Brian
You are the very reason I have gotten involved in CNC. As others have said, DOS and I don't get along well at all. I discovered MACH 3 and now am a certified VICTIM of the CNC hobby. Your work and the results are truly amazing. I'm a big experimenter - but without the knowledge to work with scripts, etc in any useful detail - and MACH has opened paths of great adventure. You'll be greatly missed Art - I hope Brian doesn't get lost in your shoes!
Mach isn't just for hobbies - the accuracy, utility and ease of use are Production Shop quality of the highest nature. A friend of mine has a Faro (sp?) mill for high performance engine work and my old Supermax mill does things as well, and usually with much less fussing, using Mach 3, as his $100,000 mill! Now for some new ballscrews...... donations, anyone??
Have a great retirement and all the best for the future from a very happy Mach user. Best wishes, Keith

Remember- done beats perfect every time!!
Art - your personal "hands-on" assistance was just what this newbie need back in Mach2 days.
You should enjoy your retirement - Now go PLAY!

Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.
As I prepared to retire in 2005 my friends all told me that I would miss work as much as they would miss me! It was true, they didn't and I don't! Retirement is the greatest thing since apple butter and competent hand will take the reins or the world will adapt.
Enjoy your retirement and rest assured that we appreciate your accomplishments!

art i e mailed back and forth with you a few times and heard your voice on vidieo.you created a great package. i wish you well in your retirement and good luck to you and yours
Art,
Many thanks for your contribution, especially to the hobbiest and DIY'er. Your work and development of MACH has made it feasible for the masses to dabble in CNC without breaking the bank. Honestly, I dabbled a long time for free, but I did eventually get a License as the time allowed me to see what a great bargain it truly is and the rate of development remarkable.
I have to say though, I'm not sure anyone can replace you and, how should I say, your Radio Voice, in your online tutorials.
Your on the upswing of life's "U"-shaped happiness curve. Enjoy your retirement and God Bless.
Art,
I appreciate you. I have known Mach from my friend. Your products is very good and low prices. It's possible or not if you will develope Mach or other softwares forever on low costs.
