Default Stepper motors not running well

Hello folks, I am building my first CNC router and i just ran into some problems so i need your help.

PC: Quad Core Q8200 2.33GHz, 4GB ram, PCI parralel card(0x4008)

I am running 4x Nema 24s 439oz(24HS34-3504D), DM542T drivers, 2x PSU at 36V and a breakout board connected to a PCI parralel card. I am using Mach3 and 25000Hz kernel speed.
The problem i am having is that the motors dont run smooth, they lag or miss steps. I noticed that when I set kernel speed to 65000Hz they would turn smoother but they also lag about every 10-20 seconds. Also in motor tuning tab, if I leave Step Pluse and Dir Pulse at 0, they lag more, but if I set both values to 5 they turn smoother. I am not really sure if I'm using the right expressions, so I attached a link to a video that shows what exactly is happening. I also ran DriverTest and noticed that it didn't behave like it should. I know that drivers and motors are not the problem because I tried stepping with Arduino, and it worked perfectly smooth.

I have searched a lot and couldn't find any solution so i decided to post here. I will be happy for any kind of suggestion and will try to reply ASAP.
    Thanks, Tomi

The problem is with your PC.

Try going into the bios and disabling SpeedStep or EIST if you can.
Also, in Windows, try configuring the PC as Standard instead of ACPI. This may require re-installing Windows.

For the Step Pulse, type in 10 or 15, and see if it works better. But you need to see a better Driver Test first.

According to the specs I found here: https://www.omc-stepperonline.com/cn...2t-24hs34.html those motors have 5.6 mH of inductance, which means they really want about 76 volts supplied to run optimally. Since you're giving them less than half of that, it's not surprising they're stalling on you. It seems that the drives you've got will handle up to 50v, so you could try switching out the power supply for a 48v one, which should improve performance. Or you could swap the drives for ones that will handle 75v.

Thanks, I disabled SpeedStep in bios and set my PC as standard. The DriverTest behaves way better now, I'm going to test the motors now.

awerby, I don't think that is the case because they weren't stalling when I used an arduino to generate steps.

This fixed my problem. Thank you so much, you saved me a lot of time and nerves Now the motors are turning perfectly smooth like they should.
