    Default limit switch triggered

I keep getting a 'limit switch triggered' on the status readout and the emergency LED flashes on the diagnostics page with Mach2. All limit switches are OK. The Emergency switch is functional but doesn't set off the reset LED when pressed down . Any help is 'perciated.

    Mach 2???
First if that is true, switch to Mach 3.

Mach3 is now installed. Not getting a limit switch condition as before but the E stop switch still does not work. Motors are singing but no motion. PMDX-122 and Gecko drives seem to be working OK.

    Okay. Better.
Under config, ports and pins, have you checked that the limits and estop is wired to the correct pins?

If the motors are singing but not moving double check that you have the pins right for direction and step as you could have them swapped... and on limit switch are they wired for Normally open low input or high input?

Thanks guys. It'll take a little time reading Mach3 docs as it appears there are some changes. Thanks for the input and I'll let you know how things go asap.

Yes so you ports and pins should look somewhat like this one ... the direction and step are swapped on the setup so it's not 2,3,4,5 but 3,2,5,4

What does the wiring to the switches look like? Is it shielded? Mach lets you see the switch status, but sometimes it is also helpful to look at the signals with a scope or multimeter.
