    Default VFD-Spindle-Mach3 setup

I ordered a VFD and Spindle from Buildyourcnc.com and they are not helping me with support. If anyone can help me with hookup and configuration I would be happy to pay you. I am upgrading my Dads machine before he goes on vacation this Monday and I am stuck! my number is 972+832+9603 if you just want to call me.

How do you want to control the spindle, and what do you want to connect it to?

I have a Watercooled spindle, VFD (both from buildyourcnc.com and a gecko 540 going into Mach3.

I can get the spindle to work and adjust speed with controls on the unit but when I change the setting to let Mach3 do it, nothing works but I do hear a click in the 540.

AFAIK G540 does not have a spindle relay, the relay is external if used, Have you set the VFD parameter to external control?

    Yes it has 2 options.

    1 says potentiometer 10k set to 07.08 #3
    2 says set 07.08 #1

    I have tried both.
I am not sure what inputs to be using on the VDF.
I have VFD Ground, Output and +10VDC out of the 540 but those do not relate the the VFD. the VFD has X1-5 and COM, AI1, 5V

Did it come with a manual? What's the model # of the VFD?

    Here is the "Manual"
Im not sure if I have it wired correctly or if Mach3 is set correctly. I entered in all the settings I could think of and tried going off other peoples videos on youtube.

    connecting to a Gecko 540

I can get the VFD to work with manual control but when I set it for external settings I get nothing.
