Mach3 question

Hello,

I am currently setting up Mach 3. I have soft limits set and they work. When I press Ref All Home the Z axis moves first but it goes straight past the soft limits 0 point and if I don't manually hit Esc then I would have a crash.

I have Homing & Limits, green tick on Auto Zero.

I have possibly not got a setting right somewhere. I have watched the videos until blue in the face so to speak. Would appreciate any pointers whatsoever

Homing moves to the physical limit switch. I believe that softlimits are disabled during homing, as the softlimit position is not known until the machine is homed to a switch.

I got it, many thanks. Can you set a home point in the same manner as you would set a soft limit? I see in Homing & Limits there is a Home Off. Field. I have tried to put values in there and get it to home to them but it did not work. I saw in the instruction that you can set a home position which is not at the end of an axis and could be helpful if you had a very long z axis for example and did not want to wait for it to make a slow jog to the end.

Yes, whatever value you set in the Home Offset column, is the position of the home switch. The home switch can be wherever you want it to be. Just make sure you don't try to home from the wrong side of the switch.
