Moving Y and slaved (A) axis independently

Hi folks,

Is there a way to manually move the Y and A (slaved to Y) axis each on its own?
That will be very useful for gantry alignment, as currently I have to manually loosen the nut of the gantry foot and move it by hand.... which is not a very precise thing to do.
