    Default A-axis only turns clockwise

    Hello,
Let me preface this with, I am new to all of this.
Set up: legacy explorer3. Built an A-axis, power supply, st-m5045 driver, step pin 9, Dir pin 8 in mach 3. Driver wiring: blue wire (pin 9) in pulse+ on driver, yellow wire (pin8) in pulse- on driver, looped pulse+ to Dir+. Ground wire to dir- on driver. In mach3,when jogging the A-axis, it moves clockwise but not counter clockwise, although the numbers move when the ccw jog button is pressed.
If more info is needed, I will try to post it.

First thing is to check the voltage on the direction pin at the drive. It should be 0V in one direction, and 5V in the other direction.
