You're best bet is to talk to the developer of the motion controller you plan to use, to find out what features work or are implemented yet in Mach4.
Looking thru the manual, I really like some of the new threading features, and I'm considering upgrading to mach4 but I'm curious to know if they fixed the CSS and IPR problem that mach3 has. So anyone here use it on a lathe yet?

So i'm a bit green when it comes to mach4, but I know in mach3, regardless of the motion controller you use, you can not use CSS when in IPR mode. I currently have a smoothstepper, but if I needed to buy a new control board to make it work I'm ok with that. More or less I just want to confirm that mach4 has the ability to do it correctly.
Mach4 will have little to nothing to do with it. It is UP to the controller itself to control that function. M4 will just issue a Gcode The controller is now responcible for the action. SO as Gerry Mentioned you WILL have to ask the OEM of the controller IF it can handle that function under M4.
Just a thought, (;-) TP
