I know calipers can be used for DROs, but looking for something more like a real mini dro package. My dad bought the hf7x10 lathe, and would like to set him up, since he is getting older, his vision is only getting worse. I remember some DIY dro set up someone was selling, was not very expensive. Any help would be great.

I would recommend getting some digital readouts from iGaging. They come in various lengths can be cut to fit your length and you can mount them easily. I have had excellent results with them on my SX2 mill. As soon as the budget allows, I am going to add some to my 7x10 lathe. Got mine from amazon.com
