| I would say only incremental...For absolute to work the encoder would have to report its position when the control is started. This is usually done by sending a "request to send" to a serial interface encoder. The encoder usually has a battery backup to read changes in position while the control is powered down. I have'nt seen many "A Quad B" encoders that are absolute. As a matter of fact, I have only seen one. It doesn't take that long to home each axis at the start of work......Absolute scales are really not worth the headaches...... Paul |
