Fresh Fish here, Just upgraded my Sherline lathe to CNC over the weekend and now am "trying" to turn "anything". Can do straight with increments fine. I do not even begin to guess at how I am supposed to get a curve to cut. Convex and Concave Just a simple handle for files and rasps would do to start. Have got CAD, Converter, and lathe software. Fairly knowledgeable, not a guru, got first PC in 79 or 80 and it was frustrating at first also. Thanks in advance for any and all help. doc438 |

Here is an emc2 subroutine for cutting a radius on a part. I set up offset coordinates for the subroutine and there are a few global variables that you must define #<_close_X> (close to X), #<_Xcut> (depth of cut for each pass) and #<_FineFeed> (specifies the feed rate for the cut). I also set up a lot of other variables that are not shown but the code snippet should give you the basic idea how one type of curve is cut. Code: ( Cut radius on workpiece ) o Code: o
