I am looking into trying EMC2 and want to know if umuntu comes with a CAD and CAM package or will I have to get more to use EMC2. If so what simple programs should I try. I won't be needing and complated software nor do I want any. I am an old man and learning new programs will come slow. Any advice would be great! Thanks Carl |

| The live CD comes with games, open office, gedit text editor, and other tools to setup and run the system much like you would see in Windows. To load a CAD or CAM package the easiest is to use the Synaptic package manager. Assuming the pc is connected to the web, you can do a search for "Applcations" you want to add to your system. You can even run windows applcations using wine. Qcad is one of the more popular CAD programs for Linux.

| Make sure you select qcad. I just did it on a new computer to make sure and it worked fine.
